Casual Opera fan awash in a sea of non-Opera peopl I fell in love with Opera 23 years ago while I was a University student. I still attend as many live performances and Metropolitan Opera simulcasts as my budget will allow. Which sadly is only a fraction of those available to me. I can never really choose a favorite Opera - although if pressed into it - I would probably say Faust. While Opera is not my main passion in life, I thoroughly enjoy it. I find that watching a good Opera performance can lift my spirit for days. Sadly I have only one friend who shares my love of Opera. Most people get awful looks on their face when I mention Opera as if they fear I might somehow inflict it upon them. So I thought it would be nice to chat with others who love Opera.
